Fans were upset at BIG Naughty—not because he has a girlfriend, but because of his “unprofessionalism” of stepping away from the song in the middle of a song. The audience wondered where he went, and netizens believed this lacked respect for the viewers.

After getting backlash for his actions, BIG Naughty apologized during a live stream and wrote a handwritten letter as an official apology.

Shortly after, his agency H1GHR MUSIC responded to their artist’s controversy with an official statement. They apologized for his actions that “may have caused controversy and misunderstanding.” In particular, they apologized to the fans hurt by untrue stories in the news that were posted without confirmation and stated that they would do their best to stop inaccurate facts from spreading. The agency then asked for a favor.
