Actor Hong Jong Hyun will be enlisting in the military soon, saying goodbye to his fans for his 2 year obligation to the country.

According to an exclusive report from Ilgan Sports, Hong Jong Hyun will enlist in the military on December 2, 2020.

Hong Jong Hyun will be enlisting in the military on December 2. He will return [as an actor] after he fulfills his 2 year defense obligation to Korea.

Hong Jong Hyun previously commented on his pending enlistment in an interview with Ilgan Sports.

I’m sure that I will be acting for a long time, so I don’t really worry that much about going to the military.

Hong Jong Hyun made his debut as a model in 2007, and transitioned into acting in 2008 with the movie A Frozen Flower. Since then, he has acted in a variety of dramas, including Dating Agency: Cyrano, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, and My Absolute Boyfriend. He also was part of the cast of We Got Married 4, with Girl’s Day‘s Yura.
