Idol Gets Hit In The Head By Alleged Fansite, Gets Chased After By Another Fan
A recent incident of a second-gen boy group member getting hit on the head by an alleged fansite has created quite a heated discussion online.
The idol in question is Woohyun, a member of INFINITE. The incident occurred on March 2, KST, while he was at the Hong Kong airport, leaving after his group’s concert in the city.
As per fan-taken videos at the airport, Woohyun was already struggling to walk through a sea of fans, surrounded by bodyguards. While some took pictures, others were seen trying to hand him gifts. As he tried to make his way through, he suddenly got hit in the face by a fan’s extended hand that was holding something in a brown paper bag.

Woohyun was evidently hurt by the impact, as he was seen covering his face in pain.

The videos sparked intense criticism from fans who were enraged at the people at the airport invading Woohyun’s personal space. Some identified the fan who hit him as a well-known fansite, and their X account went private soon.

Instead of apologizing with the fansite account, the fan is believed to have used a different account, newly created with no followers, to address the incident.
Hence, i retracted my hand but the guards closed in and i had no choice but to lift my hands up and woohyun walked right into it while my hand got trapped by the 2 guards. I am really sorry to cause distress to everyone and i rlly dont mean any harm to Woohyun.

Interestingly, one of the accounts that exposed the person whose hand hit Woohyun soon started receiving scathing backlash from fans. The account owner posted a video of herself chasing after the idol while he was moving through the airport in a golf cart. Fans were baffled at the irony of her being so vocal against fans putting Woohyun’s safety at risk, only to turn around to stalk him.

The second fan account has not apologized or addressed the criticism whatsoever.
This incident has once again brought the safety of idols in public spaces into question. Woohyun is not the first, and certainly not the last idol, to face such a dangerous situation at airports.
