Popular Idol Goes To Extreme Lengths To Fund His Solo Comeback
INFINITE member Dongwoo has returned with a solo comeback for the first time in almost seven years. His second mini-album, AWAKE, expresses his desire to awaken the emotions that have been dulled by the repetitiveness of daily life.

On November 17, he interviewed with various media outlets, explaining the reason for his long hiatus.
“Many things happened during the hiatus. I had a beautiful parting from Woollim Entertainment and went through two agency changes, all under the same CEO.
Due to my military service and the pandemic, I had been preparing for a long time. However, we served in the military together as a group and reunited after four years, so my solo release was naturally delayed by six years and eight months.”

Regarding the production of the album, it was all funded and made by him, revealing that he even took out a loan for the comeback.
The most important thing is that this album was funded and made by me. This isn’t something you do. I participated in every meeting without fail, from the music video to the jacket photo shoot, costumes, music, and concept.

The title track, “SWAY (Zzz),” expresses emotions like an alarm clock, and the process of finding sincerity amid the never-ending tug-of-war between two people.
In the process of selecting the title track, he stated, “For six months, there were conflicting opinions on whether or not to do this song. Some people said they wanted to turn it off the moment they heard it, while others found it to be a refreshing sound.”
