ITZY Fans Demand Apology From MBC After They Fail To Upload Lia’s “Music Core” Fancam

“Please show respect to all of the members…”

ITZY released their fun new single, “SNEAKERS,” along with their fifth mini-album, Checkmate, on July 15.

The five members are hard at work promoting their new single “SNEAKERS” and have already performed on Music Bank, Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook, MTV Fresh Out, and Music Core.

The girls have expressed excitement for their promotions as they anticipated meeting with MIDZYs (their fans) and finally hearing their cheers.

Checkmate marks the girls’ first comeback in Korea since they released their first studio album in September 2021. While fans are celebrating the return of ITZY, they’re also calling for an explanation from MBC.

After ITZY performed “SNEAKERS” on MBC’s Music Core, MBC uploaded individual fan cams of the members on their official YouTube page. It was quickly evident that Lia‘s fancam was the only one missing.

Fans began to trend “#MBCApologizeToLia” and “ITZY IS FIVE” on Twitter, demanding to know why Lia was the only member excluded from having her own fancam.

Fans noted that this wasn’t the first time MBC seemingly snubbed Lia. Late last year, it was announced that Lia would be singing her first OST for the drama The Red Sleeve. Her song, “Always Be Your Star,” was expected to play in the show’s final episode. As fans tuned into the finale, they were disappointed that the song was unexpectedly cut from the episode.

ITZY’s Lia acknowledged the disappointing change but remained positive in a message consoling fans.

Fans are calling for equal treatment of the five members and an explanation from MBC. At this time, MBC’s YouTube page still only has four of the members’ individual fancams.
