A video of ITZY’s performance of “Wannabe” in Sydney has gone viral, and initially sparked criticism from netizens who claimed the members had no energy.

While the comments were turned off, the video was posted online and was linked to the “BLACKPINK effect,” seemingly linking to allegations Jennie had for “lazy” performances.

Yet, while the initial TikTok saw fans criticizing ITZY, the quotes on the post defended the idols.
Many explained that ITZY have never gotten the credit for their performance skills, but one video from a full concert has led to a wave of criticism when the members are already busy and have full schedules, with a comeback planned. Many also added that the girls were singing completely live, and it was the toned-down performance that allowed them to stay so stable.
