Despite the speculations, the group successfully held their fourth official fan meeting concert, ON AIR, on September 20, KST.
In the middle of the concert, when the members were addressing the crowd with brief speeches, they decided to address the topic of ITZY’s future and contract renewal. Ryujin started talking about it with a serious tone, telling the fans how she wanted to share the news with them first, adding that they had many conversations with the company and among themselves about the future of the group. There were audible gasps in the audience at this very moment, as it was quite unexpected of them to address such an issue in the middle of a concert.
Ryujin then continued, saying, “It seems that moving forward, showing ourselves standing together as five would be…,” cutting herself off mid-way with an ambiguous smile, and then adding, “…would be really easy!”
