She went above and beyond.

This weekend, IU held her highly anticipated 2025 IU FAN MEET-UP “Bye, Summer” event at KSPO Dome in Seoul, marking her first official offline fan meeting in two years. Despite the staggering 30,000 capacity across two nights, EDAM Entertainment promised the event would emphasize two-way interaction and connection with fans.

And, in true IU fashion, the soloist delivered on that promise in the most touching way. During her performance of “I Stan U,” the star made her way to the second floor where the wheelchair-accessible zone was situated.

Rather than limiting interactions to front-row fans, which is typical at large events, IU personally touched the hands of every single fan in the accessible seating section — on both day one and day two of the fan meeting.

Videos of the moment quickly gained traction on X, with international fans sharing how touched they were by her efforts.

The interactions soon became a hot topic on Korean community platform TheQoo, too. Korean netizens flooded the discussion with emotional responses, noting how both IU and her fans seemed overjoyed.

  • “It’s so touching…”
  • “I’m so jealous, it must be such a good memory for them.”
  • “I’m a wheelchair fan and I’ve gone to every concert, but I passed on this fancon….. crazy……..”
  • “Wow, even IU’s expression looks so warm. I love it.”
  • “IU has such a kind heart ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ”
  • “Watching this just made me tear up ㅠㅠ Especially the last pic!! Her warmth was literally visible”
  • “I love you, IU ㅜㅜ”
  • “I saw this in person and for some reason I teared up ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ”

The sweet gesture marks yet another example of IU’s consistent consideration for her disabled fans, ensuring everyone gets an equally meaningful experience. Back in 2019, she gained attention after personally greeting a fan who couldn’t make it up to the fanmeeting stage due to a lack of wheelchair accessibility.
