IVE’s Jang Wonyoung Wins Special Achievement Award At SOPA Despite Not Making It To Her Graduation Ceremony

Here’s what the award is for.

Seoul Performing Arts High School (SOPA) is widely known amongst K-Pop fans. From its highly recognizable yellow uniform to its red brick walls, there’s probably not a single person into K-Pop that doesn’t know the school. Many idols have graduated from the school, with there being a limited amount of performing arts schools in South Korea. Famous graduates include BTS‘s Jungkook, NCT‘s Mark, Jeno, JaeminHaechan, and Jaehyun. Even Suzy graduated from the school.

In 2023, IVE‘s Jang Wonyoung was part of the graduating class. Wonyoung was unable to make it to her graduation ceremony in the end due to schedule conflicts.

Her yearbook photos were posted online, celebrating the end of her high school life.

It was also noted that she won a Special Achievement Award for her time at the school.

Special Achievement Awards in SOPA are given to students that have successfully managed to debut. As the school is usually meant for trainees, idols, or aspiring talents, the award makes complete sense. Alongside Wonyoung, other idols such as BlitzersJo Woojoo, Lightsome‘s Lee Yoojung, Weeekly‘s Lee Jaehee, High Cutie‘s Yoon Eunki, and ATBO‘s Kim Yeonkyu were also listed on the same winning list as her.

Congratulations to all the winners and graduates!
