Jay Park To Be Honoured At Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center Inaugural Gala
According to Billboard, the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center is set to honour hip-hop and R&B artist Jay Park, at its inaugural celebration, The Party.
The Party is the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center’s first annual event to raise awareness about the many contributions of Asian Pacific Americans (APAs), as well as to announce the launch of the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Keystone Initiative.
The event also aims to begin fundraising for the first permanent Asian Pacific American gallery within the Smithsonian.
From music to technology, sports to entertainment, these modern history makers inspire Americans of every ethnicity, religion and socioeconomic background by demolishing barriers and challenging timeworn stereotypes with their talents, perseverance, and ingenuity.
— Lisa Sasaki, director of the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center
Jay Park was elated to be recognised by the prestigious institute.
A lot of the things I do go unnoticed so I’m honored to receive an award and have my efforts be acknowledged, especially at such a prestigious location. I appreciate everybody that’s supported me and will continue to keep pushing. I will also put on a lit performance.
