SHINee’s Jonghyun  as he tops Billboard‘s World Albums chart with his solo mini-album Base.

On January 22nd, Billboard announced Jonghyun’s success with Base. Already debuting as number 2 last week, he has reached the number 1 spot with his self-composed album.

His success with Base marks him the first K-pop idol this year to top the chart. His two title tracks, “Crazy (Guilty Pleasure)” featuring IRON and “Deja-Boo” featuring Zion.T, have also made their marks on Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart, currently reaching number 12 and number 21 respectively.

Last year, his group members performed well on the chart too, as Taemin‘s debut solo album Ace has peaked at number 2, and Key’s Toheart collaboration with INFINITE’s Woohyun reached number 8.

Currently, Jonghyun is on a winning streak with his mini-album and has taken a celebratory selca with fans, as he is busy promoting it on various music shows. He has also recently modeled for the Feburary issue of Elle Korea.
