J.Y. Park Hit With Criticism After Crediting JYP Entertainment’s Success To Specific Groups
Though he is no longer the CEO of JYP Entertainment, J.Y. Park has remained involved in the company and with its artists throughout the years as a shareholder, producer, and more.

Recently, the star appeared on Radio Star and spoke about his recent appointment as co-chair of the Presidential Committee on Popular Culture Exchange. J.Y. Park also discussed the success of Stray Kids and their seven number 1s on Billboard.
While on the subject of their success, J.Y. Park spoke about JYP Entertainment as a whole, “joking” that the old JYP building was “built” by Rain and The Wonder Girls, while the new one was built by TWICE and Stray Kids.

His comments were shared on a forum, where netizens chimed in with their thoughts.
Rather than knock any of the groups that were named, many felt that other groups that debuted under JYP should have been acknowledged for their part in the company’s growth. In the past, it was mentioned on more than one occasion that 2PM generated the most revenue, with a significant portion coming from tours.

Former Miss A‘s Bae Suzy and GOT7 were also mentioned for their contributions, the former with the numerous ads and other solo appearances and the latter with touring efforts.

- Suzy and 2PM helped JYP survive the hard times, haha.
- There’s no way they didn’t mention 2PM — if they didn’t, that’d be shocking. Without 2PM in the 2010s, JYP would’ve literally gone under.
- Wonder Girls had high recognition, but they were probably running at a loss toward the end.
Honestly, the boy groups fed everyone — g.o.d, GOT7, 2PM, Stray Kids. - People think 2PM, Suzy, and GOT7 didn’t build the old company building, but actually kept it from being sold off.
