JYP Entertainment Will Reveal the Creation of Their New Japanese Girl Group Through New Show “Nizi Project”

Introducing JYP’s newest project: Nizi Project.

Just days before JYP Entertainment officially debuts their newest Korean girl group ITZY, Park Jin Young, JYP Entertainment, and Sony Music Japan have announced the creation of their new reality program: Nizi Project.

This reality program will set out to debut JYP Entertainment’s new Japanese girl group. The goal of the girl group is to show off a beautiful light of many colors, like a rainbow.

Girls who are between 15 and 22 years old can audition for the program. Applications can be filed starting on May 1, 2019 with the auditions being held during July and August. The auditions will take place in 8 cities in Japan (Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, and Okinawa) along with 2 cities in the United States (Los Angeles and Honolulu).

The auditions and the training of the 20 candidates selected will be broadcast as a reality show starting in October 2019. These 20 candidates will receive training at JYP Entertainment’s training center in Seoul, South Korea for 6 months. The training encompasses skills such as vocals, dance, fitness, and more.

The number of trainees who will make it into the final group has yet to be determined, but the number is variable, as it depends on the potential and skill of the trainees. There will be a broadcast in April 2020 to reveal the trainees who will be debuting in the new group, with their official debut set to be around November 2020.
