JYP Idols Spark Criticism With Comments About Departing Members And Lawsuits Linked To Group
After lawsuits and members leaving JYP Entertainment group VCHA rebranded as GIRLSET.
The members sat down with Billboard in an interview that “addresses controversy” and spoke about the group’s future.
During the interview, KG‘s lawsuit and Kaylee‘s departure were mentioned, and the response focused on the music, explaining their perspective on what happened.

Through their songs, they hope people finally hear their side reminding everyone that there are always two sides to every story. pic.twitter.com/DpuEy0ywNO

I do feel like songs is the way of saying how we feel and I really hope people try to see that as our way of like sharing our story, about what we feel about the situation. This is our story, so I really hope people listen to our songs and lyrics and try to see our side and how we feel about it because people haven’t heard from us.
It was then added that there are “two sides to the story.”

Yet, netizens hit back at the comments from the members, saying it felt weird for them to seemingly try to promote the music and continue as normal when the details of the lawsuit and issues surrounding the group were so serious.
i still cant tune in knowing the abuse they went through especially with their previous youngest member who was only like 13-14 if i remember correctly.. I honestly feel the same way about fiftyfifty. i hate seeing idols suffer to continue their artistry. https://t.co/rjZP7Mb9sS

I’ll never forget what happened, all this seems so weird to me. Their answers don’t make much sense. A 13-year old tried to really badly hurt herself and everyone’s acting like nothing happened. Whatever https://t.co/tH0L1rq5gL

idc if you support these girls or not bcs it’s none of my business but i think it’s absolutely crazy and out of touch to dismiss the two past members experiences just because of these fuckass media trained answers https://t.co/ma86Xc8CpD

the concept of addressing a lawsuit in which they talk about members wanting to kts, developing eating disorders etc through the song commas https://t.co/ws4tYcEVHq

the concept of addressing a departure and lawsuit through music instead of just addressing it through a statement https://t.co/9tyaSsDJFa
