K-Drama Star Accused Of Faking Her Personality On Reality Show
Actress Lee Se Hee appeared on MBC’s The Manager and showed off her down-to-earth charm — but the broadcast has since sparked controversy.
A post titled “Lee Sehee’s unbelievable persona? Why the production team is being criticized” recently went up on an online community. Viewers were shocked after seeing a very different side of Lee Se Hee on the program. Her manager also remarked that Se Hee had an “unusual” personality.
When Lee Sehee first appeared on The Manager in July, the episode ranked No.1 in its time slot with a 3.2% viewership rating. However, on her second appearance in August, she once again showed quirky and unfiltered moments, which led to growing suspicions that the broadcast was staged.
On the show, Lee Se Hee calmly let water overflow while filling an ice tray, read a book with its text printed upside down, went on a walk with her dog Kangi, picked up a broken umbrella, splashed cold water on her knit sweater, and even laid down flat in the grass.

She also startled the panelists when she pulled a pile of blankets out from her double-panelled window frame. Usually, the small gap is for insulation rather than for storing items. Later, when going out, Lee Sehee put on clothes straight from the washing machine without waiting for them to dry.

Viewers who saw the episode were divided. Some criticized the scenes, saying, “This is so staged,” “Not even normal people do that,” “A top actress walking around with a broken umbrella?” and “Wearing knitwear in wet grass is too much.” Her agency has yet to speak on the matter.
