Kang Daniel Enlists In The Military Today

Singer Kang Daniel, formerly of the group Wanna One, is enlisting in the military today (the 9th).

Kang Daniel will enlist as an active-duty soldier in the army to fulfill his national service obligations.

Regarding this, his agency stated, “There will be no separate event on the day of enlistment, and since it will be a gathering with many military personnel and their families, we kindly ask fans to refrain from visiting the site for safety reasons.” They added, “We ask for the warm support and love of fans so that he can faithfully carry out his duty and return in good health.

Kang Daniel has shared his feelings about his upcoming enlistment in various broadcasts and interviews. He said, “I plan to work hard until I enlist. I’ve already planned a song to release before enlisting,” and also mentioned, “I have plans for after I’m discharged,” showing his detailed preparation.

Especially on Cultwo Show, he openly expressed his feelings before enlisting, saying, “I’m finally going,” with a sense of relief. He also shared an anecdote: “I tried to enlist early at 19 by dropping out of high school and taking the equivalency exam, but I was rejected because there were many applicants.

Previously, it was reported that Wanna One would reunite through a reality show after seven years, drawing attention. Kang Daniel was said to participate in some of the reality show filming before enlisting. In response to fans’ questions, he said, “I will probably be involved only in the intro next year, as I’m ‘going abroad for study,’” metaphorically referring to his enlistment, which caught attention.

Kang Daniel debuted as a member of Wanna One through Mnet’s audition program Produce 101 Season 2 in 2017 and gained immense popularity. Afterward, he debuted as a solo artist in July 2019 and has been active not only as a singer but also as an MC on various programs.
