Girl Group Suddenly Announces Their Disbandment, Member’s Termination, And More
A six-year-old girl group abruptly announced their disbandment following the loss of two members on the same day.

Kannagi Rabbits is a six-member Japanese idol girl group that debuted on January 24, 2019. Up until recently, the lineup consisted of eight members: rin, asahi, irina, shuri, miona, sara, ayane, and lio. On August 29, the group’s official X account (formerly Twitter) announced that leader ayane left the group due to health concerns.

That same day, lio was kicked out of the group for breaching the terms of her contract. Though Kannagi Rabbits’ management didn’t reveal details about her termination, they requested that fans refrain from slandering lio and spreading false information. Her social media accounts have been terminated.

Later that same day, Kannagi Rabbits announced their disbandment. The members and their staff released a joint statement on X (formerly Twitter), apologizing for the suddenness of the announcement. They explained that the decision comes after reflecting on the group’s activities to date and having numerous discussions about each member’s future.
Kannagi Rabbits’ final performances will take place on September 17 at GRIT in Shibuya, Japan, and on September 21 at 246 Live House GABU in Osaka, Japan. The group will officially disband on September 21.
Unfortunately, Kannagi Rabbits isn’t the only group having difficulties right now.
