KBS Employee Tested Positive for COVID-19, Yeouido Building Currently Under Shutdown for Preventative Measures

The employee was a janitor in the KBS headquarters located in Yeouido, Seoul.

An employee of broadcaster KBS has tested positive for COVID-19, leading to prompt quarantine and preventative measures.

On March 10, the employee, received the test results from a medical center confirming their contraction of the virus.

One day prior, the employee had already notified KBS that their son was confirmed for COVID-19.

In response, KBS put the employee as well as 11 of their colleagues in quarantine and proceeded to shut down the KBS headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, where the employee worked as a janitor and conducted preventative measures.

KBS stated, “When the employee notified us of their son one day prior, we immediately disinfected the 2nd floor, 1st-floor electrical room, and the basement air handling unit, which the employee worked in, and even before the examination results came out, we began preventative measures in the rest of the building as well. Furthermore, the employee always wore masks and gloves while on the job.
