Kim Go Eun Reveals The Unexpected Real-Life Tragedy That Inspired Her Netflix Performance
Actress Kim Go Eun is drawing from real-life heartbreak in her latest role. In Netflix’s new series You And Everything Else, she portrays Eunjung a woman whose 30-year relationship with her best friend Sangyeon (played by Park Ji Hyun) explores the beauty and pain of human connection.
During a recent interview, Kim shocked fans by revealing the deeply personal reason why this project felt so different. It turns out, she had lost a close friend two years ago. The drama goes deep into both literal loss of someone through their passing, as well as the breaking and mending of relationships.

“Two years ago, I lost a close friend. When I received this script, it made me reflect deeply on the emotions of letting go of someone precious. Thankfully, I was able to channel those feelings in the right way. It felt fated that this project appeared before me, and I truly hoped it would be well made. In the end, the finished piece became a project that stayed with me. I think even when I look back later in life, I’ll still consider it a work of fate.”
Her raw honesty and openness about loss left fans touched, with many praising how she transformed pain into powerful acting. You And Everything Else is now streaming on Netflix.
