Kim Hyun Joong to serve as a border patrol in the army

Singer and actor Kim Hyung Joong is to serve as a border patrol in the army after successfully completing his basic training.

According to an insider on June 18th, “Kim Hyun Joong has been assigned to the 30th division at Paju in Gyunggido and will continue to serve his post for about 20 months.”

Kim Hyun Joong made a quiet military enlistment on May 12th, receiving basic training for the first few weeks. On June 18th, he attended a ceremony that marked the completion of his basic training. The following day (19th), he has been scheduled to take up his post as a border patrol for the 30th division in Paju.

Despite his on-going military duty, the court battle between Kim Hyun Joong and his ex-girlfriend, only known as Ms. Choi to the public, is nearing as both sides prep for the hearings ahead.

While Choi is currently suing Kim Hyun Joong for 1.6 billion won, or $1,450,608 dollars, as compensation for her psychological distress that she supposedly suffered after allegedly getting beaten by the artist which resulted in her miscarriage last year.

Kim Hyun Joong’s representative stated on June 3rd, “We are preparing a countersuit on the grounds of defamation. This suit will be filed by June. It will include the fine of 600 million won ($543,978 dollars) she has to pay for breaking the contract of her settlement last year plus the 600 million won she received as settlement, so it will be at least 1.2 billion won ($1,087,956 dollars) not including how much we are figuring out to ask for defamation of Kim Hyun Joong.”

Meanwhile, he is set to return to the civilian world on February 11, 2017.
