Spoiler Alert
Recently, some of the judges of Boys II Planet have faced criticism over comments made to trainees.

In a recent episode, viewers noticed that the panel repeatedly made remarks about trainees’ weight and visuals, prompting immediate backlash online. Jaejoong commented about their visuals and skills, specifically telling one trainee to lose weight while laughing.
So now we’re talking about people’s appearance? pic.twitter.com/74qlBunaPQ

Though there were mixed responses, criticism of Jaejoong specifically has continued, as netizens comment on the situation.
idgaf if jaejoong went through hell and back or wtv the fuck. calling trainees ugly and telling them to lose weight is fucking insane. him having trauma from his time in the industry doesn’t mean he gets to make others go through the same thing and humiliate them like this

I dont care if Korea thinks its normal to talk about other people's bodies. For me, Jaejoong fatshaming Boystory was way out of line. We should stop ignoring this kind of disrespect just because 'it's their culture.' Fuck Jaejoong #boys2planet pic.twitter.com/fOD0Atc2Vo

The criticism seems to have continued on his Instagram account, where Jaejoong actually responded. In a comment that has since been deleted due to the critic deleting their comment, Jaejoong claims that he did not mean to disregard someone’s appearance and that his comments were only meant to be “reminders” of topics already discussed.

I see that it came across that way to you. If so, I sincerely apologize.
To clarify a few things — I did not make any remarks that disregarded someone’s appearance. It seems the footage was edited. The reason the topic of dieting came up is something the member himself was already aware of and had acknowledged.
It wasn’t meant as something hurtful — it was brought up not to shame, but to motivate him to do even better next time during evaluations. The PD also mentioned this — it was intended as a reminder, so please don’t misunderstand.
(Even a slight difference from dieting can have a big impact on performance, and I believed it would be a contributing factor in showing dramatic improvement, which is why I brought it up with hopeful expectations.)I support all the participants and sincerely wish for their growth. As someone who has rooted for them from the very beginning, I wanted to offer foundational and sincere advice rather than just superficial praise.
What was aired doesn’t show everything. Behind the cameras, we had conversations and shared deep, respectful exchanges.
Fans and viewers may have felt uncomfortable, and for that I apologize. But I’d be grateful if you didn’t judge everything solely based on the edited footage. The masters understand the participants’ sincerity and the weight of their dreams more than anyone. So even if their words may sometimes come off strong, in the end, it’s all to help protect the participants’ futures.
Rather than focusing only on evaluation, we want to help them realize the value of their dreams and the light they carry — that’s what drives us. I hope you can understand that. This response may not ease all discomfort, but if the truth was misrepresented and that made those supporting the participants feel uneasy, I wanted to share my honest feedback.
For reference, I’m someone who has followed their voice stories and activities all along — I was one of their biggest supporters on site.
I truly hope all the boys get to achieve their dreams.
— Jaejoong
This response also has earned mixed reactions, as some felt that nothing he said excused his comments on the show.
Telling someone to lose weight in front of millions of people and then acting like “evil editing is the problem” YOU still told that kid to lose weight. Your words, the context doesn’t matter. Leave the show. https://t.co/LaU1KRi9QD

this is not an apology and even if the show is edited he did say those words so https://t.co/af3zjmy890

heres the thing he couldve chosen anything else to critic on but he chose that, im not negating the fact that mnet didnt evil edit tf out of this, they did that bc he provided them the material. saying they evil edited doesnt diffuse the fact that HE IS THE ONE THAT SAID IT https://t.co/NfNnxttwAI

Others felt that his explanation of “evil editing” explained that he meant no harm with what was said.
These child fans really need to put their phone down & touch some grass bcs they're so easily pointing fingers & accusing others without watching or reading the full description. And what's funny is it's the non-fans & the haters that keep yapping on socmed 🙄 https://t.co/nQyhGob0c3
