Kim Soo Hyun Directly Participates In Seizure Of Whistle-Blower’s Bank Account

Actor Kim Soo Hyun and his agency Gold Medalist have taken legal action to seize the assets of Kim Se Ui, head of the controversial YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute. On June 11, 2025, Kim’s legal representative, LKB & Partners, confirmed that two provisional seizure orders are currently underway. Kim Se Ui was the start of it all when he first blew the whistle on Kim’s huge scandal involving his relationship with Kim Sae Ron.
One of the seizures involves two real estate properties owned by Kim Se Ui — Hanyang 4th Apartment in Apgujeong and Buksan Blooming Apartment in Seocho. These assets are valued at approximately ₩11.0 billion KRW (about $8.07 million USD), with Gold Medalist listed as the sole claimant for a total claim amount of ₩4.00 billion KRW (about $2.93 million USD).
More notably, Kim Soo Hyun is personally listed as a creditor in the provisional seizure of Garo Sero Institute Co., Ltd.‘s corporate sponsorship bank account—marking his direct participation in legal action against the whistle-blower.
When asked why Kim is not named in the real estate seizures, his legal team explained that real estate seizure requires official registration, which would publicly reveal Kim’s personal information. To avoid having his details exposed to the Garo Sero side, Kim opted to be involved directly only in the seizure of the bank account.
The legal dispute escalated in March after Garo Sero, alongside the bereaved family of the late actress Kim Sae Ron, alleged that Kim Soo Hyun had dated her for six years, beginning when she was a minor. They also criticized his agency’s response to her DUI incident.
In response, Kim Soo Hyun held a press conference to strongly deny all claims. His legal team asserted that the evidence provided was “edited and fabricated,” clarifying that Kim and Kim Sae-ron did not date while she was underage. They stated the relationship began in the summer of 2019, after she became an adult, and ended in the fall of 2020.
Kim’s legal representatives have since filed criminal charges against Garo Sero’s operators and Kim Sae Ron’s family for defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act.
