Kim Soo Hyun’s Fans Receive Backlash For Mocking Kim Sae Ron
Actor Kim Soo Hyun‘s fanbase is facing backlash for allegedly mocking the late actress Kim Sae Ron.
It was recently reported that a fan union of Kim Soo Hyun had announced a legal war against malicious commenters, suing them for defaming the actor. Ironically, the fanbase itself is receiving intense criticism for its attack on Kim.
The posts in question were made in Kim Soo Hyun’s fan gallery. Among them, some posts went as far as to criticize the price of the late actress’s urn. “She didn’t even have money to pay her debts, but went for something expensive,” one post read. Another stated, “She’s broke yet went for the best option,” while another read, “She should have paid her debts first.”
Some other comments also spread some damning claims about Kim without any evidence. They accused the late actress of consuming drugs and causing an accident while driving, and also claimed that she frequently partied at nightlife venues since she was a minor.
Kim Sae Ron’s family was also abused with remarks claiming that they were “selling out” their deceased daughter for money.
These comments have left netizens shocked and disgusted, as many criticized Kim Soo Hyun’s fans for their hypocrisy.
Previously, Kim Hyun’s fan union issued an official statement on the 22nd, announcing that it would take legal action against netizens for defaming the actor. They also announced the appointment of lawyer Yang Tae Young from the law firm Siwoo as their legal representative. Meanwhile, Kim Soo Hyun himself is pursuing legal action against the bereaved family of Kim Sae Ron and YouTuber Garo Sero Research Institute, seeking ₩12.0 billion KRW (about $8.41 million USD) in damages.
