On March 27, 2025, Bu Ji Seok, the legal representative of the late Kim Sae Ron’s family, held a press conference where he disclosed text messages exchanged between the deceased and Kim Soo Hyun in June 2016. He used the texts to evidence that the two were in a romantic relationship when the late actress was still a minor.

Amongst the chats were incriminating messages that insinuated Kim Soo Hyun was attempting to pursue physical intimacy with the star, who was then a minor.
