Korean Man Forcefully Administers Drugs On Woman In Hongdae Before Sexually Assaulting Her

A man in his 20s has been handed over to prosecutors after allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting a woman he had just met on the street in Hongdae, Seoul.

According to the Seoul Seocho Police Station, the incident occurred in the early hours of April 5, 2025. The suspect reportedly approached the woman, who was under the influence of alcohol at the time, and led her to a nearby building. There, he is alleged to have administered drugs and proceeded to sexually assault her.

Evidence of drug injection marks was later found on the woman’s arm. After receiving her report, the police launched an immediate investigation. CCTV footage from the area was reviewed, which enabled officers to identify and arrest the suspect.

The man has since been detained and was formally referred to the prosecution today for further legal proceedings. The case has sparked public concern over safety in nightlife areas and the use of drugs in sexual assault crimes.

This is not the first time a woman was attacked by a stranger. Previously, a Korean man was arrested after assaulting a stranger.
