In November 2024, though, Kim tendered her resignation to her team and announced that she would be putting her career on hold. It was first reported that she made the decision to focus on raising her daughter, but later, it was revealed that she might have chosen to leave the spotlight after being flooded with malicious comments—though Kim’s management, PLFIL, commented that Kim Ye Ji’s non-shooting activities (for promoting the sport of shooting) will continue.

Kim’s Instagram has since provided fans with a shocking new update on her whereabouts. On December 11, Kim shared news of her appearance in Balenciaga‘s 2025 S/S collection photoshoot. She was featured in the “This is Balenciaga” campaign, a series of photos shot by Juergen Teller and his wife and creative partner, Dovile.

The campaign featured not only Kim Ye Ji but also athlete and model Romeo Beckham, singer Kim Petras, and models Lee Soo Ah, Khadim Sock, and Akech Bior, having them pose with pieces from Demna‘s personal collection of vintage furniture.

Kim’s update received a range of reactions—some impressed, others concerned. A few even called out the photographer for doing Kim’s visual wrong.
