LE SSERAFIM Sakura And Chaewon’s Feelings After IZ*ONE’s Disbandment Shows Their Beautiful Friendship
LE SSERAFIM‘s Sakura, Chaewon, Kazuha, and Eunchae appeared on Sunmi‘s Show! Interview to tell the story of how their group came together. They took turns talking about how they were inspired to become singers and the challenges leading up to their debut.
Two group members, Sakura and Chaewon, had utterly different backstories until they met on the show Produce 48, which led them to join the 12-member K-Pop girl group IZ*ONE. They were together until April 2021, when their contracts expired, and the team was disbanded.
In a rare moment where they could talk about their past lives as IZ*ONE members, Sakura and Chaewon opened up about how they felt after leaving IZ*ONE. Sakura said, “I felt something was missing. I had always been a member of some groups, but suddenly becoming independent…I felt so lonely.”
After strengthening her resolve, Sakura returned to South Korea, determined to debut with a group she wouldn’t ever leave. Then Sunmi asked how she felt when she realized Chaewon would be a member of LE SSERAFIM alongside her.
Sakura’s voice was filled with emotions as she said, “Honestly, I didn’t think I could see her again. I was so excited to make a debut with her again…so happy.”
Chaewon shared Sakura’s feelings, “As IZ*ONE disbanded, I said a last goodbye with Sakura, but seeing her again…it was unbelievable, and I felt so safe,” she said.
Meeting again in LE SSERAFIM must have been fate for Sakura and Chaewon since their group has had massive success. The bond between all members of IZ*ONE remains strong as the members support each other however they can.
