They told me this was my screening theater. My mom and dad are here, my younger sibling is here, and all the people I love are here… I’m just so grateful to be able to show them this movie.

Sobbing, she added, “Please enjoy our movie. We worked really hard on it.”

Lee’s emotional moment at the premiere carried a deeper meaning, as Hi.5 is finally set to see the light of day four years after finishing filming. Though the movie was completed in 2021, its release was repeatedly delayed due to post-production problems and the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the situation worsened after Yoo Ah In, who is one of the main cast members, got embroiled in a high-profile drug abuse scandal. The film practically got shelved for years before finally securing a theatrical release.

Lee Jae In was in high school when she started filming for Hi.5. But she will be greeting viewers in her very first lead role years later, now as a grown adult.
