When asked by MC Yoo Jae Suk about whether the movie had reached 5 million viewers, the star didn’t mince words. “Not even close,” he responded before adding even more blunt honesty about his disappointment.

To be honest, I feel a little let down by the viewers. I’ve been promoting this movie for two years, so why aren’t people coming to see it?

The timing of Lee’s comments is particularly notable as they come amid widespread comparisons between Harbin and Song Hye Kyo‘s recently released thriller Dark Nuns. While Lee’s historical epic has struggled to find its footing at the box office, Song’s horror film has been breaking records, managing to outperform Harbin‘s early days performance after its premiere.

As a result, there have been a lot of comparisons drawn by Korean media, some of which also met the anger of fans.

During the show, Lee’s characteristically blunt delivery led Yoo Jae Suk to comment on his seemingly indifferent attitude, suggesting it might be part of a persona. However, the actor was quick to set the record straight: “This isn’t an act. You can think of it as my real personality.

The conversation took a lighter turn when Jo Se Ho attempted to defend Lee’s straightforward nature, sharing his own initial misunderstanding of the actor’s personality. In true Lee Dong Wook fashion, he kept the joke going still.

I do dislike him a little.
