Lee Kwang Soo Clarifies Controversy About Allegedly Not Being Invited To Kim Jong Kook’s Wedding

It has been confirmed that actor Lee Kwang Soo was invited to singer Kim Jong Kook’s wedding but was unable to attend due to overseas commitments.

According to Star News on September 15, 2025, Lee Kwang Soo did not attend Kim Jong Kook’s wedding, which was held on September 5 at a hotel in Gangnam, Seoul. Though invited, he was unable to be present as he was in Vietnam for promotional schedules ahead of the local release of his film Love Barista.

Earlier, on September 11, Kim Jong Kook revealed the guest list for his wedding through his YouTube channel Gym Jong Kook, drawing attention. The ceremony was a small, private wedding with around 100 guests under tight security. According to the video, attendees included the Running Man cast members Yoo Jae Suk, Haha, Ji Suk Jin, Song Ji Hyo, and Yang Se Chan. However, fans noticed Lee Kwang Soo, who worked alongside Kim Jong Kook on Running Man for 11 years from 2010 to 2021, was absent from the video, sparking speculation that he might not have been invited.

It has since been clarified that Lee Kwang Soo was indeed invited but could not attend due to his Love Barista promotion schedule clashing with the wedding. The film, in which he stars, is set to premiere in Vietnam this October. Meanwhile, the wedding was hosted by “Nation’s MC” Yoo Jae Suk. For the congratulatory song, Kim Jong Kook himself performed his hit track Lovable, moving his bride with a heartfelt serenade.
