Lee Seung Gi’s Staff Left Unpaid Amidst Recent Discord
Singer-actor Lee Seung Gi is reportedly in the process of terminating his exclusive contract with Big Planet Made Entertainment.
According to his legal representative on April 6, Lee Seung Gi notified the agency of contract termination in late March, citing violations of the agreement. His side maintains that the contract has been lawfully terminated. The key reason behind the decision is said to be issues surrounding unpaid staff expenses.
“Despite various issues surrounding the agency and some unpaid settlement amounts, we tried to maintain trust. However, problems arose with support for entertainment activities and payment to staff and external partners.”
His side further explains that the termination was an unavoidable decision to prevent on-site staff from going unpaid. Despite the situation, Lee Seung Gi plans to carry out his existing schedules without disruption and expressed his intention to continue activities responsibly for fans and staff.
Meanwhile, Big Planet Made, has recently been at the center of multiple reports involving contract terminations from artists including Taemin, THE BOYZ, VIVIZ, and more. While the agency stated that discussions are ongoing depending on individual contract terms, growing reports of artist departures are raising concerns over overall trust in the label.
