In the latest episode of MBC’s The Manager, Lee Yeon appeared as a guest while discussing her daily life and work on Perfect Crown, where she plays Secretary Do.

During the broadcast, Lee Yeon was seen finishing a meal at a restaurant before casually heading toward a bus stop for her next destination. When the cast noticed that she seemed to rely on public transportation instead of driving, her manager explained the reason.

According to the manager, Lee Yeon previously had a driver’s license, but it was revoked after she missed the renewal period. The reveal immediately surprised the panel. Song Eun Yi reacted in shock, while Choi Kang Hee joked that Lee Yeon was truly a “free spirit.”

Lee Yeon quickly clarified that the situation was not caused by a serious driving incident.

It’s not like I did something wrong. I just didn’t know I had to renew my license. No one told me.

— Lee Yeon

Because she missed the renewal deadline, her license was eventually canceled.

The revelation made one detail from Perfect Crown especially funny. Although Lee Yeon has a scene in the show where she appears to be driving, she revealed that she was not actually behind the wheel.

That was on set. It was all CGI!

Meanwhile, Perfect Crown is set in a fictional 21st-century constitutional monarchy version of South Korea. The K-Drama follows the romance between Sung Hee Joo, played by IU, a commoner who has everything except royal status, and Grand Prince Ian, played by Byeon Woo Seok, a royal who cannot truly have anything.
