LG Electronics flooded by negative comments over Tzuyu’s removal as brand ambassador

Netizens criticise LG Electronics for removing TWICE’s Tzuyu as their brand ambassador following her recent controversy with China and Taiwan.

Previously, it was reported that one of LG Electronics company, LG U+, removed all advertising materials for their latest line Y6 featuring Tzuyu in China, citing the negative response of the controversy in the country. However, as news broke out about her removal, the official Facebook page for LG Electronics in Hong Kong were flooded with angry responses and called fellow netizens to boycott all of its products.

According to independent media company, Marketing, LG Electronics clarified that the company has not part in the issue as LG U+ are independent companies under separate management, emphasising that LG Electronics has no influence towards the decisions of LG U+. Both companies, however, are part of the LG Group.

It was previously explained that despite the controversy, Tzuyu’s contract with the company is valid and the singer remains to be their model.

Meanwhile, Tzuyu, along with JYP Entertainment, has issued an official apology and announced their decision to halt all activities in China in order to reflect.
