The “LALISA” and “MONEY” singer saw huge success with her album. She won numerous awards and fulfilled her goal in spreading her name far and wide.

But how did her experience affect her as a member of BLACKPINK? She answered this topic in a recent interview with Harper’s BAZAAR SG. The topic was brought up when they asked her, “How has your work as a solo artist informed the work you do as a member of a group?

Lisa explained that she and her members have made it a habit to discuss everything and make final decisions together. But when she was preparing for her solo debut, she herself was totally in charge of the details including the song, choreography, music video, and many more. She thanked her company for hearing her ideas and following through with them.

BLACKPINK members discuss and make decisions together. However, as a solo artist, I had to decide on every detail such as the song, choreography, styling, music video, album covers and more. It was a new experience for me, thanks to my company which valued and followed my suggestions.

It was precisely because of this freedom as an artist that she realized she gained confidence in herself. This increased confidence turned out to positively affect the girl group’s long-awaited comeback with the album Born Pink. She was more decisive, and her improved decision-making skills helped BLACKPINK.

I gained a lot of confidence in myself, which also had a positive influence on my group activities as well. I believe my decision-making skills improved, which was especially helpful for our comeback [in August 2022].
