MAMAMOO’s Solar Goes Viral For LGBTQIA+ Inclusion In New MV
MAMAMOO‘s Solar shocked netizens with the teaser for a music video for her upcoming comeback, 2nd Mini Album COLOURS.
Netizens were quick to point out the queer influence in the music video, as Solar vogued with a diverse group of people. The clip soon went viral across social media, although the full music video has yet to be released.

Contrary to popular belief, the dancers in the video were not all in drag. They are actually members of House of Love, a kiki house.
‘Kiki’ is a term which started in ballroom culture and has recently been brought back to slang by the LGBTQIA+ community, is loosely defined as a gathering of friends for the purpose of gossiping and chit-chat, and later made more famous in the 2012 song “Let’s Have a Kiki” by the Scissor Sisters.

As houses are “families,” its mother is dancer and choreographer Love Ran (also known as Kim Ran), who also choreographed Chung Ha‘s “I’m Ready” and “Stay Tonight.”
