Mark Ruffalo Personally Confirms That He’ll Be Starring In HBO’s “Parasite” Remake
Hollywood actor, Mark Ruffalo, is best known globally as Hulk from the Marvel Universe. Rumors circulated earlier this year that he’ll be starring in the HBO remake for Director Bong Joon Ho‘s multi-Oscars winning film, “Parasite”.
Mark personally responded to the rumors and confirmed that it is indeed happening! Mark and Bong Joon Ho has already met and talked over the opportunity, and now they’re waiting on the scripts.
We’ve met. I love [Bong Joon-ho], I love that movie.
I might be playing the father in ‘Parasite’ on a television show. I would love to do it. We’re sort of waiting on the script and all that, but yeah, that’s pretty much true and in the works.

Mark Ruffalo has never been quiet about his admiration for Bong Joon Ho and his movies. Before he had confirmed the news, he claimed it would be an “honor” to be a part of his projects.
That’d be amazing. [Bong Joon Ho is] amazing. I love him.
His speech last night [at the Oscars] was incredible. He made an amazing movie, and I’d be honored to be able to play something in that.
It’s so beautiful. You know how it is nowadays, nothing’s done until it’s done but maybe one day. It’d be cool to be a part of.

Director Bong Joon Ho will be working with HBO and director Adam McKay for the upcoming 6-hour long film project. He gave a glimpse of how it’ll differ from the original work as he teased that the whole story has yet to be revealed.
I had all these key ideas accumulated from when I started writing the script. I just couldn’t include all those ideas in the two-hour running time of the film, so they’re all stored in my iPad and my goal with this limited series is to create a six-hour-long film.
For example, when the original housekeeper Mun Gwang comes back in the late-night, something happened to her face. Even her husband asked about it but she never answered
I know why she had the bruises on her face. I have a story for that and aside from that why does she know the existence of this bunker? What relationship does she have with that architect to know of this bunker? So I have all these hidden stories that I have stored.

HBO’s “Parasite” has yet to even begin filming, let alone confirm their casts. So far, Mark Ruffalo and Tilda Swinton are the two most likely cast for the project.
Stay tuned for more updates on this highly-anticipated series!
