MBC Announces Collaboration With Adele, And Netizens’ Reactions Are Way Too Funny
On November 13, 2021, MBC announced that they will release a project with English singer-songwriter Adele sometime this month — and netizens were equally shocked, confused, and amused by the news.
An official announcement was shared on MBC’s Twitter account, including a photograph of Adele and with no specific date set.

It’s not the first time Adele appeared on an MBC program, either. Back in 2016, Bae Cheol Soo‘s Music Camp aired an exclusive interview with the singer. While there are rumors that Adele will appear in person for the 2021 broadcast, it’s likely that it will be a livestreamed appearance like her previous work on MBC.
However, that’s not stopping netizens from creating hilarious hypotheses. Fans speculate that Adele may be appearing on MBC’s Show! Music Core, and have posted edits of Adele on the stage with MCs NCT‘s Jungwoo, Minju, and STRAY KIDS‘s Lee Know.

Furthermore, a post on a Korean community board that’s spread online has fueled this rumor by hinting at Adele appearing on Show! Music Core on November 27, 2021. However, this has not been confirmed by MBC.

“Adele sunbaenim” and “Adele unnie” even trended on Twitter thanks to the public’s surprise over the announcement.
Many have joked about Adele doing a standard K-Pop idol introduction inspired by her single “Hello” — “From the other side! Annyeonghaseyo, Adele-imnida” — as well as some relating to her other hits.
