MBC’s “ISAC 2025” Sparks Major Controversy And Heavy Backlash
A recent post on TheQoo has stirred up heated debate surrounding MBC’s annual holiday special, the Idol Star Athletics Championships (ISAC). According to the post, filming for the 2025 edition dragged on for hours without proper care for attending fans.

The netizen claimed they had to check in as early as 5 AM, only to still be sitting through events well into the morning while the men’s relay preliminaries were underway. The post was uploaded at midnight.

To make matters worse, they revealed that MBC didn’t provide even a single bottle of water during the long recording session. Though staff reportedly told fans they were free to leave if they wanted, the conditions left many shocked and frustrated.

Checked in at 5 AM and right now they’re still doing the men’s relay preliminaries.. haha
MBC didn’t even give us a single bottle of water, ffs.
*They did say if anyone wants to leave, they can go home.

For years, ISAC has been criticized for its grueling schedules and lack of consideration toward both idols and fans, but this latest situation seems to have reignited those frustrations. Many netizens are calling it outright mistreatment and questioning why the program is still being produced in the first place.

- “Has MBC completely lost it? This is straight-up abuse of power.”
- “They should get sued for this kind of mistreatment.”
- “These people are insane. I seriously hate this, what the hell are they doing?”
- “Why are people still showing up… If the place were empty, they’d actually be forced to improve.”
- “They’ve gone mad.. smh”
- “Wow, this program is still around?? Unreal.”
With backlash building quickly online, it remains to be seen whether MBC will respond to the criticism.
