K-Pop Idol’s “Controversial” Husband Turns To Working Gigs After Losing His Job To Scandal
Singer MoonOne, better known to K-Pop fans as KOYOTE Shinji‘s husband-to-be, got honest about a difficult chapter in his life—one that began shortly after his relationship with the K-Pop icon went public.

The two appeared as a couple for the first time on KBS‘s Stars’ Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant, where MoonOne admitted that his career came to an abrupt halt following the July 2025 controversy that drew intense public attention.
Leading up to the scandal, MoonOne had been performing at events and singing at weddings. But he shared that the offers “suddenly stopped” after the press highlighted his relationship with Shinji, leaving him scrambling for alternatives.
MoonOne eventually turned to physically demanding part-time work to make ends meet.

I worked at a logistics center moving packages, and I also cleaned staircases for a cleaning company. I couldn’t just sit around—I wanted to contribute however I could.

Shinji didn’t hide her feelings as she reflected on the situation. Expressing both gratitude and guilt, she admitted, “If he hadn’t met me, he might not have gone through such a hard time.”
Despite the setback, MoonOne maintained a composed outlook, attributing the backlash to concern from fans and emphasizing that his only path forward is to “work harder and prove himself.” Now, as the couple prepares for marriage, Shinji made it clear she has no doubts.
I’m thankful and proud for him. We got through it.
— Shinji
