The One Thing JYP Entertainment’s Park Jin Young Asked TWICE’s Nayeon To Do For Her Solo
TWICE’s Nayeon recently made a comeback with her second solo album, NA. She held a press conference and showcase on June 13, 2024, to present her latest title song “ABCD” to the world.
Nayeon also dished on the sole request that the JYP Entertainment head honcho Park Jin Young had for her. As the overall director of her comeback, he envisioned a Y2K style for the album. Having actually lived through the Y2K era as an artist, Park Jin Young wanted Nayeon to have a healthy and fit image for the song. As such, Nayeon exercised every day to build up a healthy body.
“The first thing that he said was that he hoped I would exercise, and that I would appear healthy for this album. On rest days or days where filming ended early, I went to exercise almost daily. It was hard, but I did my best, so I’m satisfied. I was too young during Y2K, and so there are parts I didn’t understand. Park Jin Young PD advised me to watch the videos of pop artists from that time. That is why I watched many artists’ live performances, and listened to their songs, getting inspiration from them.”

It is safe to say that she perfectly pulled off the Y2K style with “ABCD.” Although the official music video is not out yet, you can check out a snippet through the teaser below.
