Since before his 2024 hiatus, Renjun has been the target of often malicious comments about his appearance. The idol’s styling, even on personal time, has also drawn mixed reactions from netizens.

Similarly, the latest criticism involves what the idol was wearing.
On June 4, NCT DREAM arrived at Incheon International Airport, departing for Bangkok, Thailand for their SISOD Fanmeeting.
Much like other occasions, Renjun stood out from the other members, who were wearing more casual outfits. The idol sported a matching long-sleeve shirt and shorts combo, sandals, and a black purse, while his medium length hair was styled down.
On a post featuring photos of Renjun, many comments spoke negatively about the idol, also misgendering him.
