NCT’s Ten Admits He Felt Insecure While Preparing His Solo But Now He’s Completely Satisfied
NCT‘s Ten just released his third solo SM Station, “Paint Me Naked,” and it’s absolutely full of his unique character! From the clothes to the song choice, Ten was very hands-on in the creation of the song and its music video. He spoke about what it was like preparing for the release on a recent appearance on DIVE Studios’ podcast Get Real.
Co-host JUNNY asked Ten what it was like working on his own song. Ten said that even though this isn’t his first solo, it was the first time he got to choose his own song.
So I did release my own single three years ago, but this is the first time I get to choose my own song, get to give my opinion about the music video, the clothing, the lyrics, the art.
Ten was surprised when the company even reached out to him about what clothes he wanted to wear for the music video!
Though he enjoyed the creative process of getting to make decisions about his song, he said it made him feel insecure.
It was pretty nice because… Everything was so new to me, though. They don’t… really touch on my own stuff that much. So I kind of feel insecure sometimes because it’s my first time I choose my own song, so I don’t have that [confirmation] that it’s gonna work or not.
Ashley Choi threw Ten for a loop when she asked how satisfied he feels on a scale of one to ten.
Ten had to think for a second but said that because his name is Ten, he’ll give it a ten out of ten!
I feel like this song, ‘Paint Me Naked,’ really represents me right now, like my mindset. Because I do a lot of hard choreography, just trying to be cool, doing the sexy face and stuff. But this time [it’s] just like being silly on the set.
Ten definitely should be proud of his solo which has been a commercial success and super well-received by fans! His passion and attention to detail certainly shine in this release.
