Must Watch? New Netflix K-Drama Breaks Record With Very First Episode
Bon Appétit, Your Majesty (also known as The Tyrant’s Chef) is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about K-Dramas of 2025. Only two episodes in, the series has already pulled off impressive numbers both in Korea and overseas. It has already broken a record!

The fantasy romance, starring Im Yoon Ah and Lee Chae Min, launched on tvN with strong ratings. Its premiere drew in 4.85 percent nationwide and an even higher 5.1 percent in Seoul, marking it as the channel’s most successful weekend debut this year.

The momentum didn’t stop there episode two saw a sharp rise, jumping to 6.6 percent nationwide and 6.5 percent in Seoul.

While the domestic numbers are notable on their own, the Netflix performance is what really pushed the drama into the spotlight. In the United States, the series broke into the Top 5 most-watched shows, ranking fourth — just behind mega-hit Wednesday.

Over in the United Kingdom, it placed sixth, an especially strong showing for a drama with only two episodes released. In Australia, it immediately debuted at number two.

The series follows the story of a modern-day French chef who suddenly finds herself in the Joseon dynasty, where her culinary skills capture the attention of a fearsome king.
