On March 8, 2023, NewJeans hit a collective 1 billion streams on Spotify. While many artists have reached that achievement, NewJeans hit this impressive accomplishment just 219 days after their debut!
This is the fastest any K-Pop act (solo male, solo female included) has reached this goal — the previous fastest artists, BTS‘s Jungkook and BLACKPINK’s Lisa, hit 1 billion streams after 408 and 411 days, respectively.
According to Guinness, at the time the new record was set, NewJeans only had six tracks on the platform, their debut album NewJeans, and the singles “Ditto” and “OMG”
