Recently, NMIXX participated in a music promotion event by Bilibili, a Chinese online video sharing website. During this event, NMIXX performed their song “Blue Valentine”…

…and they were shown an AI cover of a Chinese song that had been made using their voices.

On X (Twitter), fans pointed out that the members looked uncomfortable while listening to the AI song, and Lily seemed especially unhappy with it.

Fans were quick to empathize with Lily, who has spent years honing her craft, only for “AI slop” to “steal” her voice.

Moreover, Lily previously shared her opinions about AI, on the idol-fan messaging app Bubble.

As AI-generated images, songs, and writing continue to grow more prevalent, bleeding into the entertainment industry, so too does the controversy surrounding it.
