Her popularity has exploded domestically.

A fifth-generation girl group’s two-year-old release has been pulled away from obscurity, thanks to the virality of one of the members.

The group in question is RESCENE, a five-member ensemble that debuted in 2024 under The Muze Entertainment.

The girl group made its debut with the single album Re:Scene in March 2024, which was followed by the release of their first EP, Scenedrome, in August. Recently, a song from that very EP, “Love Attack,” has been rapidly climbing the Korean music charts, leaving fans baffled.

The song’s sudden emergence on music charts was initially hailed as an organic and “random” phenomenon by fans, with many speculating that the general public might have stumbled across the track in search of good music.

However, many netizens pointed out that this surprising success was no random occurrence and could actually be traced to RESCENE member Woni’s explosive popularity in South Korea in recent months. Woni has gone viral domestically for her YouTube videos where she stays in the character of a “gyaru” girl, and recently, her solo channel even overtook RESCENE’s group channel in terms of subscriber count.
