As reported earlier, the members of OMEGA X held a press conference on November 16, alongside their legal representative, to reveal the abuse that they had endured.

Fans have been concerned for the group ever since it was revealed that the group’s CEO Kang Seong Hee, had verbally and physically abused the members.

Guys, I was waiting outside for the Uber Eats that I ordered, and I saw the company CEO hitting the members. I really didn’t know what to do since my hands were shaking so much. They were being hit right in front of me, but I couldn’t do anything.

  • CEO Kang Seong Hee: What have you guys done for me? Did you take care of me when I was having a hard time?
  • CEO Kang Seong Hee: Stop?
  • Member: [inaudible]… it was right…
  • CEO Kang Seong Hee: Who do you think you are? Who do you think you are?
  • Member: [A member] is going to faint.
  • CEO Kang Seong Hee: I’ve already fainted before!
  • *sound of someone falling down*
  • Member: Oh!
  • CEO Kang Seong Hee: Get up! Now!
  • Member: What are you doing?!
  • *sound of a thud*
  • *sound of someone crying*

The revelation brought immense criticism to the label and its CEO. Eventually, CEO Kang Seong Hee stepped down from her position, and the group’s label Spire Entertainment has since released an apology.

Hello. This is Spire Entertainment. More than anything, we bow our heads in apology to the fans who have treasured the OMEGA X members and the members themselves and their parents, who were hurt by this matter.

We also sincerely apologize for disappointing everyone by letting the unfortunate matter happen and for the inadequate way that the company has been dealing with it up to now.

Spire Entertainment will bear the responsibility for everything regarding this matter. In addition, the CEO that caused the unfortunate incidents on tour has resigned from the company voluntarily.

In the future, the company will not shy away from but consider all the criticism and advice we have received during this time and will do our best to solve matters, making sure such things do not happen again.

In addition, we will do all that is in our power to prevent the members of OMEGA X from experiencing such unfortunate matters again and will create a better environment for them to focus on their activities as artists as we continue to converse with the members.

Thank you

— Spire Entertainment

According to the members’ statements during their press conference, however, the group has yet to receive a sincere apology from their former CEO. OMEGA X member Junghoon revealed that the group was instead threatened with allegedly a falsified statement of accounts.

After the LA incident, we feel we have yet to receive a sincere apology. Instead (the CEO) brought up our military duties and threatened us with a falsified statement of accounts. I felt that it was impossible to speak (to them).

— Junghoon

As for the falsified statement of accounts, the group’s legal representative, Noh Jong Eun, stated that Spire Entertainment alleged each member owed the label up to ₩400 million KRW (about $304,000 USD) in dept.

Stay tuned for updates.
