Actors Park Min Young and Song Kang will lead JTBC‘s new drama Cruel Story of Office Romance, the first one based on the weather service.
According to JTBC’s press release, the main cast for Cruel Story of Office Romance will comprise of Park Min Young, Song Kang, Yoon Park, and Girl’s Day‘s Yura.
Park Min Young will play the role of Jin Ha Kyung, a weather forecaster at the Korea Meteorological Administration. She is a person who only focuses on the task at hand, whether it be at work or her own self management. She is smart and knowledgeable in everything she does, and has a clear line for personal and private affairs, to the point where she voluntarily deems herself as an “outsider” (a person who isn’t popular with others).
Song Kang will play the role of Lee Si Woo, a forecaster in charge of breaking news at the Korea Meteorological Administration. He is a person with unconventional ideas and a free soul, making him appear a little like a fool, but he has an IQ of 150. He has the ability to do anything he wants but only cares about the weather.
Yoon Park will play the role of Han Ki Joon, a spokesperson at the Korea Meteorological Administration. His character is an elite and just like his perfect visuals, he has well thought out logic and the power of persuasion. When he was a rookie, he was scouted to the spokesperson division since he was able to fluently express the reasons why the division was struggling. After living his younger years as a model student, he has a low tolerance for failure.
Yura will play the role of Chae Yu Jin, a daily weather reporter. She joined the company after sending images of exclusive news and wonderful scenes, and was assigned to the weather and lifestyle team. At first, she found it boring, but she eventually became attached to the Korea Meteorological Administration with its endless weather stories and accidents. Chae Yu Jin is a character with very clear likes and dislikes, with no middle ground.
Cruel Story of Office Romance will begin their first script reading soon, and is expected to air in the first half of 2022. The show will be written by Kang Eun Kyung and Sunyoung, who worked on The World of the Married, Misty, and My Horrible Boss. It will be produced by Cha Young Hoon, who worked on When the Camellia Blooms.
