Park Na Rae Speaks Out About Using An Ex-Boyfriend As A Fake Employee
Broadcaster Park Na Rae has commented on the allegations of embezzlement by using an ex-boyfriend.
According to a media report on the 5th, Park Na Rae’s former managers filed a complaint at the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul, accusing her of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (embezzlement). The complaint alleges that Park Na Rae, as the effective head of her one-person agency, repeatedly embezzled company funds over a long period by using them arbitrarily for private purposes unrelated to business and leaking them externally.
The former managers claimed that Park Na Rae falsely registered her ex-boyfriend Mr. A as an official employee and paid him a monthly salary from January to November of this year for 11 months, totaling around ₩44.0 million KRW (about $29,900 USD). They also asserted that she transferred about ₩300 million KRW (about $204,000 USD) from a company account around August to help Mr. A secure a rental deposit. Additionally, they revealed that Park Na Rae’s mother, who is listed as the representative of the agency, was falsely registered as a regular employee despite not actually working and received monthly salaries totaling roughly ₩55.0 million KRW (about $37,300 USD) over the same 11 months.
On the 6th, Park Na Rae’s side told OSEN, “The claim that she falsely registered her ex-boyfriend as an official employee and paid him a salary is clearly false,” adding, “They are trying to pressure Park Na Rae with baseless accusations.”
The complaint further alleges that from January to November this year, Park Na-rae used at least ₩100 million KRW (about $67,900 USD) from a company account for personal expenses, such as managing her private residence and purchasing personal items.
Park Na Re’s side responded to the former managers’ allegations by stating, “Two employees who worked with Park Na-rae for about 1 year and 3 months recently resigned, and the company duly paid them severance pay. However, after receiving severance, these employees demanded additional amounts equivalent to 10% of the company’s previous year’s sales. Over time, they added new claims and continued pressuring Park Na Rae and the company, escalating their demands to several hundred million won. Park Na Rae has suffered significant mental distress and emotional shock due to the sudden resignations, unfounded allegations, increasing monetary demands, and media pressure.”
