Nana Gets Sued By Home Intruder On Charges Of Attempted Murder

On the 16th, the Guri Police Station in Gyeonggi announced that Nana, who faced charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault, was found to have no evidence against her and the case would not proceed. The police determined that Nana’s response at the time of the incident constituted self-defense in order to protect her and her family’s lives.

The incident occurred in the early hours of November 15 last year. A man in his 30s, identified as A, broke into Nana’s home in Acheon-dong, Guri, Gyeonggi Province, armed with a weapon, threatening Nana and her mother and demanding valuables.

A assaulted Nana’s mother, who was in the living room. When Nana woke up from the screams and intervened, a scuffle ensued during which A sustained a jaw injury from the weapon he was carrying.

At the time, the police judged Nana’s actions as self-defense and only charged A with robbery and aggravated assault, sending him to custody. However, while in detention, A filed a complaint claiming he was injured by Nana with the weapon, which led to Nana being named as a suspect and subjected to investigation.

On the 8th, Nana completed police questioning in the capacity of the accused. Her agency, Sublime, stated, “This case involves an inhumane crime that caused great mental anguish to Nana and her family,” and added, “We will take a strong stance against the secondary damage caused by the perpetrator’s additional complaint.

The agency also emphasized that “the perpetrator, showing no remorse, is exploiting Nana’s celebrity status to raise further legal issues,” and that they are considering all civil and criminal legal actions.

After thoroughly reviewing the circumstances of the incident, statements, and the scene, the police ultimately concluded that Nana’s actions were self-defense to protect her family in a dangerous situation and decided not to prosecute.
